Why Use A Handmade Gift Tag?
I love gift tags because they’re so versatile.
You can add gift tags to bags, wrapped gifts, or unwrapped gifts. Gift tags can act as a decorative accent and fulfill their intended purpose – get the gift to where (actually, who) it needs to go!
Gift tags are also quick to throw together. So if you don’t have much time to get a gift together, you can always rely on a gift tag.
If you’re creating handmade gifts out of your spring and summer harvest, use these gift tags as an extra special touch!
Handmade Gifts Are Not Just for the Holiday Season!
Come fall and winter, I’m in the kitchen much more. Since the weather is cold and chilly, I’m always looking for a sweet treat or a stew to brighten everyone’s moods.
During the summer, however, I’m outside. I’m picking berries from a local farm, enjoying my chickens, or catching as much sunshine as I can while the weather is warm!
With preservation season comes mason jar season. Luckily, I have plenty to share with my family and friends.
Mason jars make the perfect vessel to share your creations. I largely use mine for things like jam, rendered cooking fat, and soups. But you can also use them for things like bath salts, beauty products, soil amendments, coffee creamers, and baking mixes!
If you aren’t into cooking or gardening, you could purchase a quart-size mason jar and gift a bouquet. Add one of these pretty gift tags and you’re sure to brighten someone’s day!
How to Use Your Free ” Handmade with Love” Printable Gift Tags
These free, printable gift tags are easy to download. After you download, they are yours to use as you please. However, you may not sell them. They are for personal use only.
Because this is a digital product, nothing physical will be sent to you.
Here are some printing instructions. I hope they help!
From your downloads, find the PDF file and print your gift tags onto card stock. White card stock is what I recommend.
After they are printed onto white card stock, cut them out. Using a hole punch, punch a hole in the top of the tag.
You can use a pastel ribbon as a perfect finishing touch to complete this spring look!
These make a great addition to any hostess gift, party favor, or teacher gift.
For best results, be sure to follow the printing instructions, as well as the instructions that came with your printer. For questions, reference the manual that came with your printer.
Here are a few things to troubleshoot should your gift tags aren’t printing properly.

My Printable Tags Aren’t Turning Out. What Can I Do?
If the printable tags aren’t printing properly, or printing in error, be sure to check your printer settings. If the settings appear to be correct, check the paper you are using. Be sure that the paper is compatible with the printer make and model you have.
You can also check that you are printing to letter-size paper. This PDF file was created as an 8.5-inch by 11-inch document.
If the printable tags are still not turning out, be sure that you downloaded the file properly.

Do The Gift Tags Come in Different Sizes?
I don’t offer a free printable with gift tags in different sizes.
The gift tags attached to this blog post are approximately 2 inches wide by 3 inches tall. Standard gift tags are 2 inches wide by 3.5 inches tall, or the same approximate dimensions as a traditional business card.
How Can I Get a Straight Edge on My Gift Tags?
I use a craft paper cutter to cut out my gift tags.
For the angled edges of my gift tags, I use a pair of sharp scissors.
You could easily use a pair of sharp scissors for your entire gift tag. However, I have found it is easier to invest in a craft paper cutter like this one to complete this project. (This is the exact paper cutter I have been using for years! I highly recommend it!)

Fun Ways to Embellish the Gift Tags
You can always glue the cutout gift tags onto a piece of scrapbook paper that compliments the gift tag.
You can also play around with what you use to tie the gift tag to something! I love ribbon, but glitter tulle is also a very fun addition to any gift.
If you’re particularly crafty, you could add to your scrapbook paper with ink from clear stamps or even watercolors! Turquoise watercolors would beautifully compliment the pink flowers in these free, printable gift tags!
If you aren’t crafty, you could take those same design ideas and embellish the back of the tag.
These are a traditional gift tag. But nothing is saying you can give new life to the tag shapes with a pair of decorative scissors.
Finally, don’t be afraid to try different color combinations! Look for ways to compliment both your gift wrap and the gift tags with ribbon, tulle, tissue paper, gift wrap, and more!
