Homemaking in the Spring Months
March, April, and May are old friends in our home. I love to open the windows or throw on a light jacket as I take the kids outside to enjoy sunshine.
I can’t think of a better time to try new recipes with ingredients rolling in from the farmer’s market or spend Saturday afternoons at the park.
Even though we track our fair share of mud, stick, and leaves in to the house, I know a little elbow grease will return the home back to normal in no time.

Spring Home Decor Ideas
Throw open the windows and stash away the blankets. Spring has sprung!
A key point in spring decor is bringing the outside in. Namely, greenery. Swing by your local nursery or forage for daffodils and budding trees to add natural elements to your home.
Here are some other ways you can freshen up your home for spring.
- Add pops of color. Throw blankets and artwork are great ways to add color without changing the overall look of your space.
- Incorporate natural elements, like wood, into your decor.
- Opt for fresh flowers over fake plants.

Pastel colors are the signature color for spring. But beauty bloggers are singing a different tune this year!
Classic, horizontal stripes are rising in popularity this spring. As are gold accessories, like buttons, and sea-shell inspired jewelry.
Ruffles, lace, and sheer fabrics are all popular this spring, too. The sheer fabrics add an ethereal, light element to any look. And the layers still keep you warm on those brisk, spring mornings.
