Slow Cooker Pork Tenderloin Recipe
In a small, airtight container, create your spice mixture. Set aside.
Place your thawed or frozen pork tenderloin in the bottom of the slow cooker. Add water to the bottom of your slow cooker. This will keep the meat from sticking or drying out.
Top your meat with your seasoning blend. For this recipe, we are making a ranch-style pork tenderloin.
Put the lid on your slow cooker, plug it in, and set it to low for 4 to 6 hours if your pork tenderloin is thawed. If your tenderloin is frozen, consider cooking it for 6 to 8 hours.
After 4 to 6 hours, check the internal temperature of your pork tenderloin. It’s important that the internal temperature is 165 degrees Fahrenheit. You can get a great reading using a meat thermometer from any department store.
Your pork tenderloin should be fork-tender.
Don’t forget about your cooking liquid! You can use it to make a delicious gravy.
You can save leftovers when they have cooled to room temperature. I find that leftovers store best in the fridge in an airtight container for 4 to 7 days.

Recipe Variations and Alternatives
A pork tenderloin isn’t the only cut of meat you can make this recipe with! Consider a pork butt or pork chops for a different twist on a classic dish.
It’s very important to note that cook times vary based on the cut of meat you use! Be sure to understand that prior to putting your pork in the slow cooker.
If you choose a pork butt, I recommend you drizzle the bottom with a little bit of olive oil. Since the pork butt is a fattier cut of meat, you don’t need water at the bottom of your slow cooker. As the meat cooks and the fat melts, it will cook the meat perfectly.
Don’t waste the fat that renders at the bottom of your slow cooker! It makes a delicious gravy. In a sauce pot over medium heat, melt about 4 tablespoons of butter. When the butter is melted, whisk in 4 tablespoons of flour. When the butter and flour are combined, cook for a minute or two to cook the flour.
When your roux is ready, carefully pour your pork renderings into the pan. For this 1:1 ratio of flour and butter, you’re looking at 2 cups or so of pork renderings. If you don’t have enough, you can easily substitute with chicken broth or beef broth and still get all that wonderful flavor from the pork fat.
If you want a thicker gravy, reduce the amount of liquid you add to your roux.
Ranch isn’t the only spice blend you can use on your pork. Slather your pork in Dijon mustard and a barbecue spice rub for the delicious beginnings of a pulled pork sandwich.
If you are looking for a sliced pork recipe, consider opting for a pork sirloin roast.
Finally, consider swapping water for apple juice! Even for fattier cuts of meat, you won’t have to use a lot of juice. Pork and apples work so well together because the pork can use the sweetness from the apple, but the sweetness is balanced by the fattiness of the pork. Delicious!
