How to Make a Honey Cinnamon Latte
You should know one thing about me – I’m a purist. This recipe doesn’t include a honey cinnamon syrup (should I develop one? Please comment on this blog post and let me know!)
Instead, we’re going to incorporate the honey directly into the coffee to capture as much of that sweet flavor as possible.
So to start, we are going to drizzle a tablespoon of honey into the bottom of an espresso cup. Mix in a half teaspoon (or a full teaspoon, I won’t judge you!) of cinnamon. Set aside.
Next, prepare your espresso shot. Grind your coffee beans, load your portafilter, and place your cup in your espresso machine. Do not prepare your shot of espresso yet!
In a small saucepan, begin heating up a cup of milk. You may need to stir constantly to keep your milk from scorching. Do not let your milk boil! As soon as your milk is steaming and frothy, remove from the heat.
Immediately prepare your shot of espresso. For my morning cup of coffee, I like to prepare a double shot of espresso.
When your espresso finishes, stir the honey and cinnamon into your coffee. The heat of the coffee should help evenly distribute the honey, and since we’re using straight honey, you should get that extra sweetness.
When the honey, cinnamon, and coffee are incorporated, pour in your steaming milk.
For some extra warmth, maybe during the rainy fall months, top your coffee with a pinch of cinnamon.
If you have a milk frother, prepare your milk after you prepare your shot of espresso.
Honey Cinnamon Iced Latte Version
Instead of heating your milk, prepare your shot of espresso and combine it with honey and cinnamon.
Prepare a cup with about a cup of ice and a cup of milk. When the honey, cinnamon, and coffee are incorporated, pour over your milk and ice.
If you want to be super fancy, you can drizzle more honey on the inside of your cup!
Other Honey Cinnamon Latte Variations
You can easily create a simple syrup with water, honey, and cinnamon. Since there is water in the simple syrup, it may incorporate more easily into your coffee.
You also don’t have to use a shot of espresso. If you are using an option like cold brew, combine your honey with your steamed milk and add that combination to your cold brew.
You can also combine your honey and cinnamon with other brewing methods, like a French press or a Moka pot.
Finally, you can opt for dairy-free alternatives to milk. A cup of oat milk may add a creaminess to your coffee. Soy milk is a great alternative for those who may be lactose intolerant.
Your New Favorite Coffee Drink
Honey and cinnamon are such a cozy combination. I love settling in to a good book with a hot latte during a fall rain storm.
I love that honey also awakens us to spring! It’s a sweet way to savor either season.

I have to admit – I’m a bit of a coffee snob! As I learn more about the craft, I’m always looking for ways to sharpen my skills, invest in better equipment, and learn new recipes that celebrate the seasons.
However, frugal still reigns supreme in our household. I’m not willing to spend an arm and a leg on a good cup of coffee. So I’m always looking for ways to protect my wallet and afford the finer things in life!
